What do i do now?

Everyone needs to schedule their next appointment.

2 months old           18 months old               4 years old
4 months old           24 months old               5 years old

       9 months old
       12 months old

If your appointment for any one of these checkups is after March 30, you will have to schedule a new appointment with your new doctor.

Please schedule your checkup as soon as possible.

There is often a 1 or 2 month wait for new patients to schedule appointments.

I apologize to those of you who may have difficulty scheduling timely appointments with your new doctors.

If you have HMO Insurance

You will have to choose a new primary care provider (called a PCP or PMD).

Please do this now, or immediately after your last appointment with me.

You will have to call your insurance company to make this switch.

HMOs often make their patients wait until the next new month to see their new PCP.

A quick explanation

When you have HMO insurance, you need to choose a management group, which is called an IPA.

Each member of the family can be enrolled under a different IPA.

For example:  Mom gets Blue Cross HMO insurance from her job.  Mom can be with Healthcare Partners IPA, Dad can be with Physicians Associates IPA, and the daughter can be with Pacific IPA.  Each individual can switch from one IPA to another.  Dad can switch his IPA to Healthcare Partners; he can change back to Physician Associates again later, too.  But each time he changes he may have to wait a month before he can see the new doctor.

The Local Pediatricians button on the upper left box takes you to a list of pediatricians in Arcadia, Duarte and San Gabriel.  Most are on staff at Methodist Hospital.
